Ashley Tipton's Plus-Size Victory

Here at UrbanOG, we celebrate and embrace diversity. Everyone on earth is made up of such specific details that make each person a truly unique gift to the universe. It's a beautiful thing to inhabit a world where we all have different faces, skin colors, shapes, and sizes. The fashion industry has already begun making steps to include fuller figured women. Seeing rock band Gossip's bad-ass frontwoman/GODDESS Beth Ditto walk the runway at Marc Jacobs' Spring 2016 show at New York Fashion Week was an electrifying moment! There was even a Full-Figured Fashion Week in June. Such inspiring stuff!

So when Ashley Nell Tipton was announced as the winner of Project Runway's Season 14, it was a moment to be savored. Being the first plus-size designer to compete AND win is a major achievement and a huge leap forward in mainstream fashion. As you all may know, UrbanOG began carrying plus-size fashion this year and we were absolutely thrilled to see a plus-size gal and designer achieving a well-deserved moment in the spotlight.

Ms. Tipton's designs are dreamy, feminine, and fun, letting her customer base embrace their beautiful bodies and be fashion-forward and trendy at the same time. Her Project Runway finale collection included everything from shift dresses, rompers, matching sets, and gorgeous airy skirts.

Cheers to all body-positive women out there! And congrats to Ashley Tipton on her groundbreaking win and undeniable talent!

It's an exciting time- UrbanOG's plus-size section currently features the latest trends and is constantly expanding. Keep your eyes peeled for more, ladies!

Jenni Rivera Footwear

Nearly three years after the death of the Diva de La Banda, Jenni Rivera (1969 – 2012)
continues to be an idol that people look to for inspiration. By overcoming a series of
adversities, she is a symbol of strength to women and the Hispanic community. Jenni Rivera
is known for the translated quote, “I am a woman like any other, and ugly things happen to
me like any other woman. The number of times I have fallen down is the number of times I
have gotten up.”

Jenni Rivera is a Mexican-American who became a gold, platinum, and double platinum
recording artist; later becoming a businesswoman and activist. Some of her business
ventures included: Jenni Jeans, Devine Music, Divina Realty, Jenni Rivera Fragrance, and
Divina Cosmetics. Undoubtedly she would have diversified her portfolio in other
opportunities as well. According to her family, it was always Jenni’s dream to launch a shoe
line for her fans.

Through partnerships, the Rivera family has made the dream a reality for the late Diva by
launching a collection of shoes inspired by Jenni Rivera. These shoes will be elegant and
very fashion forward like the Diva de La Banda herself.

At UrbanOG, we are pleased to announce that we will be carrying “Jenni Rivera Footwear”. It
is our goal at UrbanOG.com to carry the latest trending styles at an affordable price. We are
proud to carry the Jenni Rivera shoe collection at affordable prices for you to have your very
own Jenni shoes. Stay tuned and visit our New Shoes section for the arrival of the Jenni
Rivera collection.

Layering Light

As much as some of us would love to start layering on fall clothes it may not be possible due to the lack of the weather’s cooperation. Those of us closer to the southern borders are still experiencing warm weather. So layers on layers is not ideal at the moment, rather laying light is.

We are in limbo. The dilemma is: We don’t want to be uncomfortably hot, but we don’t want to be wearing last season’s trends still. We would like to be fashionable while feeling comfortable. Fall style is the desire.

At UrbanOG we carry the perfect light layering pieces for warm afternoons that turn into fresh cool nights. These light layering pieces will satisfy your fall fix.

Over-sized Tops:

Light Cardis

Transitioning To Fall

Finally, the season we have all been waiting for. We all know Summer was great, but it does not get better than Fall! The nights are cooler, the leaves are changing and we all know that we are that much closer to all the holidays! We all love ourselves some good Fall Fashion and Trends! It's time to start bringing out our chic booties, layering clothing and of course we can not forget about the Pumpkin Spice Latte's! We hope you enjoy our go-to looks for this year Fall Trends.

This year we are all about the Olive tones. For the days that we just want to get out of bed and go for the effortless look, try our "Ugh Monday Shift Dress." This look would go great with booties, heels or even flats. Don't have time to do your hair? No worries, throw one of our Floppy Hats or Fedora's on and you are ready to go.

Cardigans are an all year trend, but get more trendier once Fall and Winter sneak in. If you live in California like we do, you understand us when we say that we are still waiting for that Fall weather. Change your day look from high waisted denim shorts, a crop top, some gladiator sandals and our Frayed Longline Cardigan to some distressed jeans and booties and you're set for happy hour or a late night movie date with bae.

We have just the outfit for our beautiful curvy girls. Lately we have been loving Tunic Tops. You can either dress these up or down! Pair some cute jeans and Open Toe Heels with our Crinkle Sharkbite Round Neck Short Sleeves Tunic Top. You can then tie the shirt at the waist for a more casual, flirty look. Looking for a more put together look? Rock our cute Vegan Leather Patch Suede Leggings with some heels and all you have to left is makeup and accessories

Let us know what your Fall Trends are! Follow us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter! Remember to also subscribe to receive our exclusive promotions and deals! Don't forget to snap a photo of yourself wearing your fave UrbanOG items and hashtag #LOVEUOG for a chance to be featured!
